Splendour - Spray paint on deep edge canvas.

This painting entitled "Splendour" depicts a young girl, in a long, flowing graffiti dress, sitting on the railing of an outdoor stone staircase.

Presented on a deep edge canvas the sides of which are painted in the same vibrant colours as the dress.  This gives a glimpse into the artist's technique and process.  The canvas has been first tagged in a mix a squiggles, stars, dots, lines and signatures.  Secondly a series of stencils, designed and intricately, hand-cut by Johnman have been overlaid with monochrome, transparent paints upon the vibrant base beneath.

The result is an intriguing work, impressionistic in nature.  Zone in on any given area and only and abstract pattern is visible, stand back, viewing the canvas as a whole and the image bursts into life.

As a finishing touch the girl's tiara is adorned with gold paint and liquid chrome to give a subtle ping when the light catches it.
